3. A critical step is to inspect the surface quality of the geomembrane before laying. Any mechanical damage, production trauma, holes, breakage, and other defects should be recorded and repaired. During installation, the overlap width between the membranes should be 10-15 cm, and the seams should be aligned parallel to the toe of the slope, i.e., aligned with the slope.

4. Unless otherwise specified, welds should be avoided within 1.5m of the top slope or stress concentration areas on slopes greater than 1:6.
